Back to normal...
Well, after the great bird die-off on Monday, things are apparently back to normal on Congress Avenue (i.e., no two-headed calves or anything.).
Anyway, here's some more cat photo-blogging, this time of Mercury and Sebastian, when we lived on south Congress. Notice that the thing perched outside (above Mercury's left ear), in fact, a real-live squirrel. The mighty hunters...

A very odd day...
Today is Elvis Presley's birthday.
Also, early this morning, the carcasses of some 60-odd birds (grackles, pigeons, sparrows) were found on Congress Avenue in downtown Austin. Because this is, apparently, more than the usual number of dead birds found on Congress Avenue the day before the legislative session starts, the heart of the downtown was shut down until around noon today.
